BAROSSA VALLEY GRENACHE SHIRAZ MATARO
2021
THIS UNIQUELY AUSTRALIAN RED BRINGS TOGETHER THREE LEGENDARY BAROSSA VARIETIES TO CREATE A WINE BURSTING WITH CHARM AND GRACE. GRENACHE FOR ITS LUSCIOUS, SILKY FRUIT, SHIRAZ FOR ITS RICHNESS AND DEPTH, AND MATARO FOR SPICE AND STRUCTURE. THE RESULT IS A SLEEK, JUICY WINE WITH LIVELY, COMPLEX FLAVOURS AND SUPPLE TANNINS.
This GSM is a fresh take on a traditional Barossa mainstay. Bringing together fruit from dedicated family grapegrowers across all corners of the Valley, it is a truly unique Barossa symphony.
Grenache was sourced from hand-picked, gnarly old bush vines grown on the deep, sandy soils of Vine Vale; Shiraz from the lean soils of Stonewell for structure and depth of fruit, and the Light Pass foothills for plush, bright palate weight; and Mataro from majestic old Light Pass vines that are bursting with regional and varietal character.
WINE DETAILS
VINEYARD SOURCE:
Grenache from the Heidenreich Vineyard at Vine Vale,, Shiraz from the Kurtz Vineyard at Light Pass and Sonntag vineyard at Stonewell and Mataro from the Hahn Vineyard at Light Pass, all in the Barossa Valley.
GRAPE VARIETY:
46% Grenache | 28% Shiraz | 26% Mataro
WINEMAKING:
Gentle handling during fermentation on skins in small, open fermenters has allowed for optimum extraction of flavour and fine, balanced tannins. The wine was matured in seasoned, spicy French oak for 12 months to soften and develop richness and complexity without picking up dominant oak flavour.
WINE ANALYSIS: Alc/Vol: 14.5% | Acidity: 6.1 g/L | pH: 3.42
PEAK DRINKING:
This bright, lively wine is designed to be enjoyed in its youth. It features plenty of plush fruit and a smooth, supple palate on release. However, if you prefer a little more age to your wines, with careful short to medium- term cellaring it will develop further subtle complexity.
FOOD MATCH:
Fire up the wood-oven and try it with a beautiful hunk of saltbush lamb shoulder, gently slow-cooked to perfection, or a rustic zucchini pizza with feta and mint.

A bright, plush, medium-bodied wine with a graceful, modern twist. The palate is sleek and juicy, finishing with fine, smooth, supple tannins.
